FUNCTIONING ROOFSCAPE

In this project, the addition is a big roof and façades wrapping around the existing house. The concept is derived from an analysis of a French hotel. In the hotel, we were interested in the contrast between interior and exterior. The methodology to exaggerate this contrast was turning two straight edges into one curved edge. So, we did the subtraction by thickening the interior walls. With the same methodology, I thicken the exterior walls to do the addition in the house and continued the concept of the contrast simultaneously.
